Creche

We just spent an evening at Creche in Maple Valley. Over 400 nativities on display and live music performances by local musicians. Shannon & Kendra each played a solo on the piano, followed by a duet. Their piano teacher Amy is a member of the church holding the creche so the girls were invited to play this evening. They both did a great job and were already invited back for next year!

Hassle Free Holiday Bazaar

The weekend before Thanksgiving I could be found at the Hassle Free Holiday Bazaar in Renton. I set up my own little store there complete with sprigs of Christmas Holly and other little bejeweled items. It was a lot of hard work but a lot of fun too. Check out the pictures.

Friends, Sharon & Shawn Miller stopped by
to buy some goodies for their new home.

Mmm, mmm fresh fudge!

Of course my BF Marilyn was there
with her purses and totes. Check out her store at
http://www.bymarilyn.etsy.com/

Shannon came to help me.........

Ann was there selling her doggie treats, bandanas and doggie themed earings too.....woof, woof!

Just a few of my treasures.

Paradise Gift Bazaar

This weekend was spent at the Paradise Gift Bazaar in Lakeland Hills, Auburn. A very hectic weekend to say the least. It's a lot of work setting up for any show but with all the glass I have to haul and set up it is tenfold. Usually I'm first to arrive and last to leave for the setting up process. Thank goodness for my kind hubby and my kids. It makes it a little more doable.

I had a lot of sales, a lot of interest, and even more compliments! My friend Marilyn was there with her beautiful totes and purses and my friend Debbie was also there with her wonderful artwork, acrylics and pen and ink. They even served mimosas, champagne, and wine at this event, all complimentary. See what you missed! Santa was sick with the flu though so no santa pictures this year.

Now it's back to the grindstone preparing for the "Hassle Free Bazaar" in Renton this coming weekend. If you get a chance be sure and stop by.

A Pairing of Wine & Art

The Maple Valley Creative Arts Council hosted a fundraising event this weekend. "A Pairing of Wine & Art" was held at the Lake Wilderness Lodge in Maple Valley. We had 220 people in attendance - not bad for our first event of this kind. We tasted 3 different wines which were paired with tasty appetizers and finished off the evening with scrumptious desserts and a rich tawny Port. There was music by the Cascade Jazz Trio, and ourlocal singer Susanna Fuller sang an assortment of Sarah Brightman songs. They also held a silent auction of items donated by several local artists along with an auction of the table centerpiece wine and martini glasses provided by yours truly!

This was the project that was keeping me so busy at home this week and my tables full of stemware. I provided a pair of my Hand Painted stemware for the center of each table. 22 pairs in all, made available for purchase through the silent auction.

We all received a surprise for attending too. A gift card to Chair & Trellis' new store, opening in Redmond early November. The cards varied in value from $10-$100. What a cool surprise!

The event was a lot of fun, very active, a great evening out for a great cause. It was a huge success and if you didn't buy a ticket then you should definitely do so when next years event comes around.

Glasses, Glasses, Everywhere.

So, this is what my house looks like when I have a big project under way.
Every imaginable horizontal surface is filled with hand painted stemware this week. Where do we eat you ask, well usually we are delegated to the island in the kitchen or a plate on our lap. My poor family!
Of course it's not just a matter of painting the glasses. When I'm done and the paint is dry they have to be heat set in my oven and then the final step is the cleaning to get rid of all those nasty fingerprints I put on there. We go through lots of those cans of glass cleaner and paper towels!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, I will be offering a Free give away from my Pink Inspirational line of stemware. Please check back for your opportunity to win a beautiful Martini Glass. I will be posting it later this week.

I Loooooove these compliments!

One of the neatest things about selling my glass art on Etsy is the compliments I receive from total strangers who have put their trust in my work and ordered online from my Etsy shop. http://www.classonglass.etsy.com/ It is such an honor to know that my work is making it's way into homes all across the country. Today I received an email from a customer in Omaha, Nebraska. This is what she said:

Sent by piccolinadesigns on October 04, 2009:
Just wanted to follow up with you- I just gave the glasses to my mother-in-law for her birthday and she LOVES them. She called me after the party to thank me again for such an amazing gift. They were the hit of her birthday!
Mia

Here's a picture of the glasses Mia gave as a birthday gift. They're actually one of my favorites, and they were also featured in celebrity gift bags at GBK's Emmy Gift Suite Lounge last month. Who knows who might be the next to want some..........maybe some well known celebrity. Now that would be really exciting!

Cheri

My good friend Cheri came to visit for a couple days from Portland. It's always soooo good to see her. We stopped by the Maple Valley Farmers Market and then went to see my daughters soccer game in the morning. Then we followed up with a little lunch and a little shopping before Cheri headed out to visit some other friends.

Cheri had a dinner date on Friday night and I just had to take her photograph before she left 'cus she looked so gorgeous!

Inspiration

I found this saying on a card today and thought I'd share it:

I asked for all things so that

I might enjoy life; I was given life

so that I might enjoy all things.

Preparing for Winter

Spent the whole day outside yesterday. Dan winterized our tent trailer. The girls got to cut back the flower beds (they just love that job-LOL), and I got to sort the garage. At the end of it all I got the fun job of cutting the lavendar and making bundles to hang for drying. The girls and I will be making sachet's for small Christmas gifts. My garage smells wonderful with the lavendar hanging in there!

Breast Cancer 3 Day Walk

I just met with a friend of mine, Tracy Kudrna, Breast Cancer Survivor, 60 Mile Walk Survivor! Yep, she did it, the whole darn thing. A whole 3 days of walking 60 miles. Pretty darn impressive if you ask me. I don't think I could do it. What an inspiration all the folks out there are when participating in this event.

Now I'm rooting for another friend from Virginia. Maureen Proulx and her team of 4 are "doing" the walk next weekend in Washington DC. Maureen is a new friend I have made through my Etsy store. I helped her with her Fundraiser in June at a local winery in Virginia (www.barreloak.com), by donating some of my Pink Breast Cancer Martini & Wine glasses. They sold for big bucks! Last night I just finished her order for four more customized wine glasses for her team. I know she's going to be FILLING those glasses with wine when she's done with 60 miles. It'll be a good painkiller for all those blisters and aches and pains, but heck it'll be worth it when you consider the cause.

And to all you others out there who are walking the walking, and have already walked the walk, a big congratulations!
