A couple of weekends ago I went to an art party at Ravenstone, a new local non-profit organization dedicated to connecting and educating local artists in our community and beyond. The purpose of this particular party was to paint and decorate various pieces of furniture and miscellaneous items that will be sold at our very first fundraiser auction in May.

BFF Marilyn (www.bymarilyn.com) poses with the new Raven signature piece welded by fellow artist Greg Bartol of Studio B Custom Design in Auburn.

The main focus and largest project of the evening is this soon to be beautiful round dining table. It started out as a plain wood table but is already in the process of being transformed............follow it's progress below.

Dan gives us a little history about where these unique wooden boxes came from. He's picked one out to paint and you can see his finished product further down this blog post.

Greg & Louise Bartol take a break from their projects.

Nicole Donnelly, founder of Baby Legs, (www.babylegs.com) and author of "Ride Like A Penguin" (www.ridelikeapenguin.com) uses the hairdryer to speed up the process of painting her wooden box. Nicole will be helping Ravenstone artists promote their work and run their fundraiser auction at the launch of her new online connections business "Big Ruby" (www.bigruby.net) in May of this year.
